Jaflong is a hill station and popular tourist destination in the Division of Sylhet. It is located in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet District and situated at the border between Bangladesh and the Indian state of Meghalaya, overshadowed by subtropical mountains and rainforests. Jaflong is famous for its stone collections and is home of the Khasi tribe.n. It is about 60 km from Sylhet town and takes two hours drive to reach there. Jaflong is also a scenic spot nearby amidst tea gardens and rare beauty of rolling stones from hills. It is situated besides the river Mari in the lap of Hill Khashia.
Bisnakandi is an area near India- Bangladesh border,and is located mainly at Hadar Par of Gowainghat Upazila in Sylhet District. There is a hilly tiny river flowing from the hills of Meghalaya. The area is surrounded by hills covered with thick green vegetation. The stream flows through stones as usually found in this part of Sylhet. The atmosphere here is electric. During monsoon the beauty of this place is at its pick.
Ratargul Swamp Forest is a freshwater swamp forest located in Gowainghat, Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and one of the few freshwater swamp forest in the world. The forest is naturally conserved under the Department of Forestry, Govt. of Bangladesh. The evergreen forest is situated by the river Goain and linked with the cannel Chengir Khal. Most of the trees growing here are the Millettia pinnata. The forest goes under 20–30 feet water in the rainy season. Rest of the year the water level is about 10 feet deep.
